Employment Contract in Pakistan: 8 Things to Include
A written contract removes most disagreements before they start. Whether you are hiring or being hired, check that it covers these eight points.
1. The parties. The employer's full or company name and the employee's name and CNIC details.
2. The role. Job title, main duties and who the employee reports to.
3. Pay. Salary, how and when it is paid, and any bonus or allowance, written clearly.
4. Hours and leave. Normal working hours, weekly off days and the leave the employee receives.
5. Probation. How long it lasts and what changes once it ends.
6. Confidentiality and property. A promise to keep business information private and to return laptops, files and accounts when leaving.
7. Notice and ending the job. How much notice each side gives and in which situations the job can end sooner.
8. Governing law and disputes. Which law applies and how a disagreement is handled.
Employment rules can differ by province, industry and the kind of worker, so check what applies to your case. Want one prepared for you? See our employment contract service or upload your draft for review.
