Freelancer Contract Checklist for Overseas Clients

Working with clients abroad is common, and so are payment delays and scope disputes. A written contract protects you.

Scope and deliverables. Describe exactly what you will deliver and what is not included.

Payment terms. Amount, currency, milestones, due dates, late-payment consequences and who pays transfer fees.

Revisions. How many rounds are included and what extra changes cost.

Ownership of work. When the client gets the rights, normally after full payment.

Confidentiality. Protect both your methods and the client's information.

Termination. How either side can end the contract and what is owed if that happens.

Governing law. Agree which country's law applies and how disputes are handled.

Our Freelancer & IT Pack includes contractor, retainer and export contract templates.
